Motor Neurone Disease - Raising Awareness

Well known Irish Radio and TV broadcaster, Jimmy Magee will launch his first record next week to help raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease.

Jimmy is set to release his debut single with all proceeds going to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease.  Jimmy, who is Patron of IMNDA (Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association), has tweaked These Old Eyes of Mine with lyrics of his own looking back on his career and major events in Irish history, both sporting and otherwise.

Jimmy's son Paul passed away from Motor Neurone Disease in 2008. “The deterioration in Paul’s case was rapid; arms, legs, feet, hands, voice," Jimmy said. "Following in succession until, for the last five months of his life, he couldn’t speak, couldn’t shake his head, couldn’t point a finger. It’s not life’s natural order to have your children predecease you.
